Framework

Phase One

The Target Identity

The "High-Definition" version of the new you.

The Difference Between a Thought and a Vision
Thought

"I want to be successful." It's a cloud — no weight, no coordinates. Your brain doesn't know how to move toward it.

"I want to get in shape." A wish that stays on the couch.

Vision

"I can feel the metal door handle as I walk into my new office as Senior Vice President."

"I can hear my shoes on the pavement and feel the crisp morning air hitting my lungs at the two-mile mark."

Why this matters for creating your Future-Self

A thought is easy for your brain to argue with. When you just "want" something, you have plenty of room to move backwards. But when you create a sensory-rich vision, you begin rehearsing your new reality. This dream will happen. It is a foregone conclusion — you only need to fill in the steps to achieve it. You aren't waiting for the "right time" to start anymore. Now you are moving toward a destination you've already visited in your mind.

These first questions may feel odd to answer, but the goal is to create a vivid image of the person who has already achieved your ultimate goal. Answer each question with as much detail as possible. The more specific, the more real the image becomes.

The Environment

Where are you? Describe the room, the surroundings, the other people, the lighting.

Write freely — no right answer
The Identity

What are you wearing? How do you stand? How does your voice sound when you speak?

Your outer self reflects your inner shift
The Feedback

What is the specific sentence a stranger says to you after you've succeeded?

One sentence. Make it specific.
The Internal Shift

What is the one worry you have today that the "Future You" no longer feels?

This fear is your compass

Phase Two

The Reverse-Timeline

Mapping the milestones from the end back to the start.

Work backward from your summit. Each milestone needs a concrete "evidence" — a signal so specific you can't talk yourself into thinking you haven't hit it.

If your 1-month milestone feels "too big," break it down further. If you can't see the path, the step is still too high.

Phase Three

The Excuse Breakers

The "If-Then" rigging that prevents falls.

These "If-Then" statements are your anchors. They exist so that when you hit a wall or come up with an excuse, you don't have to "figure out" what to do to get back on track. You just execute the plan to keep you moving.
The Non-Negotiable 15
One action. 15 minutes or less. You do this regardless of motivation.

Examples: Write 200 words. Make 1 cold call. Research 1 venue. Record a 2-minute practice clip.

The If/Then Shield
Distractions are inevitable. Decide your moves before they happen.

These Excuse Breakers aren't just for you to write down and then never review again. You've created them to survive the moment you want to quit. Your former self is the architect of the life you're trying to outgrow, and settling for "good enough" is just another excuse. The person on that 1-year Target Identity is counting on you to choose the work over the comfort of your former self. Trust the framework and finish the phase.

Phase Four · Every Sunday

The Weekly Audit

Confirming the vision still matches the effort.

Every Sunday, run through this three-question check. It takes 5 minutes. It will save your momentum.

Non-Negotiables Hit
Did I complete my daily 15-minute action at least 5 of 7 days this week?
One Rung Higher
Can I point to one concrete thing this week that moved me closer to my next milestone?
Visual Re-Check
Take 2 minutes to visualize the moment of completion: where you are, how it feels to finish, and the first word you'll say when you get there.
