what excuse has kept you in the same place for too long?
DO THESE SOUND FAMILIAR? >>>>>>
Common Excuse Personas that we use to limit ourselves:
“I’m Not Good Enough” – The Impostor’s Favorite Tune
“This is Just Who I Am” – The Identity Trap
“It’s Too Late to Change” – The Resigned Historian
“I’m Too Busy” – Productivity as a Shield
“It’s Not My Job” – The Bystander’s Creed
“I Don’t Want to Fail” – The Safety Net of Inaction
“I Don’t Like Conflict” – Legacy vs. Likability
So many big dreams, career goals and ambitions are pushed to the back of our minds, never to be truly sought after because of all the “reasons” why we can’t.
Every excuse has a rhythm. A loop to keep us stuck.
We hold onto our familiar routines, old habits and predictable roles that keep us comfortable. That comfort breeds fear the moment change enters the picture. Fear triggers blame of others, circumstances, or ourselves. To avoid discomfort, we rationalize our decisions and identity.
And just like that, we’re back where we started, wondering why nothing’s changed.

ABOUT the author
If you feel stuck, I can relate. I spent over a decade in credit union leadership before deciding that "good enough" wasn't enough anymore. I moved into the fast-paced world of IT services, where I’ve spent the last ten years helping organizations solve complex problems. But along the way, I realized the most complex problems aren't technical at all. In fact they are the stories we tell ourselves to stay firmly rooted right where we are.
I didn't write The Excuse Index because I’ve mastered the art of being perfect; I wrote it because I’m a veteran of the "Excuse Loop". I know what it’s like to use "I’m not ready" or "I’m not good enough" on a daily basis and then get frustrated when nothing changes.
My mission is simple: to help you recognize your own "excuse personas" and reclaim your power of choice. Whether it’s a career change, a health goal, or a lifelong dream, the journey starts when you stop waiting for the perfect time and just decide to begin.
Today, my passion is helping people stop being bystanders in their own lives. I’m here to help you trade your well-crafted lies for the "art of the possible" and finally do the thing you’ve always dreamed of doing.
